Take It Easy

I've always been a Don Henley girl....

But lately, I've come to greatly appreciate Glenn Frey.

And I think he's incredibly sexy in this video ....

And Don doesn't look too bad, either.

This Charming Closet

With the exception of days when I go to Court, my office is business casual and in the summer we really lean a little more toward casual.  Mostly because it's so hot.

Since I can be a little flexible with work attire, I'm always on the lookout for versatile pieces that I can wear both to work and for weekends.  This is especially true in the warmer months.

This past weekend, I went shopping with my darling friend, The New Mrs. Barr.

In an effort to step a little 'out of my box' I ended up with this cute little jacket - from Ann Taylor Loft.

I actually wore it to work on Monday with trousers and Christian Louboutins and I think it will look equally cute later this spring with jeans and flip flops.

It comes in several colors and it's got a lot of cute details and it's a good weight.  The other thing that I like about it is that the Loft prices make it easier to buy some more 'trendy' pieces without breaking the bank.

And they have great sales!

Happy Monday

Hi!

Here's what went on here this weekend:
Sleep
Friends
Shopping

Jewelry purchases

Dog walks (although both Sunday walks were technically dog 'drags' - at least as far as Finn was concerned)

Book Reading

Light movie watching
The weather warmed up.  I wanted to take naps but I didn't.....

And other than that - I have nothing to report.

A Little Extra F. Scott Fitzgerald

Random Pretty Man

This week's Random Pretty Man is Lola Bean's new celebrity boyfriend, Blue II, the official mascot of Butler University.

He's all she can talk about.

There's nothing worse than a lovesick Bean....

Happy Friday

TGIF!!!

This week has gone by really fast - at least to me.

It was remarkable in a couple of ways.

First, my boss has been gone for the first week of his three week vacation and I haven't freaked out - not once.  I think it's because I've been too busy and aggravated to dwell on the fact that he's not around.  But in any event, I'd rather be busy and aggravated than have the "Bob's gone, my stomach hurts" anxiety that often goes with his absence, so I'm counting the week as a victory.

Second, despite the fact that it has been cold, nasty, gray and raining in Charlotte since last Saturday, I have not complained, pouted or whined but have actually enjoyed it.  Can I just tell y'all that I found enjoying the weather so much more, well, enjoyable, than complaining about it.   You see, we had been enjoying gorgeous spring weather here in Charlotte - with warm air, sunshine and lots and lots of flowers.  But you know, it's March - so anything goes.

And when the weather turned, I just thought:  You may as well just snuggle down and enjoy being warm and cozy because come July when you're roasting - cool weather is going to sound pretty good.

So I took hot bubble baths.  And wore my boots.  And kept the extra blanket on my bed to snuggle snuggle snuggle.  And I came home from work to my warm fire in my fire place.  And I enjoyed the rain and the cold.

And spring will be back this weekend - and I'm sure I'll enjoy that, too.

So thanks for stopping by this week.  Snuggle down or frolic in the sun this weekend.

And I'll see you on Monday.

xoxo - Tonya

April

April is the cruelest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory with desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
