This Charming House
Don't even ask. I even annoy myself with it.
We decided on these graphic print mugs from Crate and Barrel (big surprise, I know). They huge (13.5 ounces), made of porcelain (one of my requirements), cheap ($3.95 each) and they come in various, graphic black and white prints (we got two of each).
How perfect is that?
I will also tell you that in addition to his many charms, The Boy has a strict policy of being brutally honest when he hates something house related but otherwise taking an 'anything you want, honey' approach. Which I find perfectly acceptable....

This is Lola Bean in the back yard.
She was enjoying our first 'fall' day in Charlotte - meaning we can sit on the patio in comfort and not feel like bugs on the surface of the sun.

It's the Elliott Lucca Cordoba Flap Front shoulder bag. And in my defense, it was way on sale and it totally elevated the jeans/button down outfit I was wearing.

Can you tell we're ready and psyched for fall here? Well, we are.
The summer months in Charlotte are just so .... hot. Autumn is so much more enjoyable. And the Beans love it. So while we're not quite there yet, we got our first little hint of autumn this weekend and it was wonderful.

In Memorium
This weekend, we heard from our on-line friends, Jim and Carla, that they've recently lost their darling and beloved little Selwyn.
Our hearts are just broken.
Jim has been kind enough to send us many emails telling us of Selwyn's happy, happy life and of his undying love for Lola. They will miss him greatly.
We just want to send all of our love and many, many corgi kisses to Jim and Carla. We are thinking of you.

Happy Weekend
Ah!
The summer is coming to an end. We've had a lot of changes here this summer. As wonderful as they've been, I'm looking forward to fall and getting back into a little bit of a rut.
Summer, the sun ... I always feel a little stressed in the summer. I feel an obligation to get out and do things and run around. Fall lends itself to nesting. To napping. To snuggly sweaters and warm drinks and crisp nights. Fires and cooking. I love it. I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to the holidays.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. I'm running errands and snuggling down for a while and then seeing friends and smooching corgis. And The Boy.

Hello!
I thought I'd let you get to know me a little better.
Here are Five Fun Facts about Finn:
- My middle name is 'Andrew'. It only gets used about once a year when I'm in super duper extra mean snake trouble with my Mama.
- I will eat anything you want to give me except olives. I don't care for them.
- At night, I sort of sleep all over the place. Sometimes, I even sleep downstairs, in the dark, on the couch, all by myself. It's a little bit more tolerable now that The Boy is here to even things out but sometimes, I get sick of these girls.
- I have a trick knee.
- I am in charge here. Lola acts like she's in charge, but she benefits from my largesse. I am the top dog. It's true. You can ask my Mama....
