Ah!

The summer is coming to an end.  We've had a lot of changes here this summer.  As wonderful as they've been, I'm looking forward to fall and getting back into a little bit of a rut. 

Summer, the sun ...  I always feel a little stressed in the summer.  I feel an obligation to get out and do things and run around.  Fall lends itself to nesting.  To napping.  To snuggly sweaters and warm drinks and crisp nights.  Fires and cooking.  I love it.  I'm looking forward to it.  I'm looking forward to the holidays. 

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.  I'm running errands and snuggling down for a while and then seeing friends and smooching corgis.  And The Boy.

We're up and enjoying our next to the last day at the beach - and although I've been happy to have it, it's really not enough.  Is it bad when one of your aspirations is to be able to enjoy two weeks in a row at the beach?  'Cause that's really what I want. 

We are having coffee, toast, eggs and bacon this morning, courtesy of the Boy (who has joined us for the last couple of days).  He's good like that.  And in many other ways. 

So have a great weekend.  Mine will include laundry and cleaning - but I'll worry about that on Sunday.

I'm not really complaining - but I wouldn't mind a little sun this weekend.  We have a pool here.  It wouldn't break my heart if I got to go for a few hours on Sunday.

It's been a bit of a crazy week - I love a good holiday but this one in the middle of the week has sort of discombobulated me.  We were out last night to see fireworks and it turned into a later night than I had thought it would be.

And once again, my poor little blog suffers!

My feeling is that so many people are on vacation this week that I won't be missed.  And considering I have at least - I don't know - 5 regular readers.....

It's gonna be a hot one - but I'm trying not to complain.  You know, in my experience, complaining about the weather only makes me feel worse, not better, so I try not to do it.

The Boy and I are going to dinner and then to see The Screwtape Letters this weekend.  We're excited about it (he and I are geeky in the same way so you know one of the reasons we're smitten).  And I'm shopping with the darling and charming Sarah on Saturday afternoon. 

Sunday we're organizing my garage and taking some stuff to Goodwill.  I cannot say that I'm looking forward to it, but I'll be happy when it's done....

AHHH!!!!!

I totally took a dive, didn't I? 

I didn't mean to, I swear.  It just sort of happened. 

I'm in love.  I'm crazy at work.  And I've had 'blog burnout' since the middle of last year.

So I just sort of dropped out.  Not just out of the blog but pretty much from online.  No Twitter.  No Instagram.  Very little Facebook.

But I'm coming back next week.  Although I'm thinking I'll have a more limited posting schedule until Labor Day.

Thank you all for sticking around and I've gotten some lovely, lovely emails from some of you which have touched me so much.

Hey!

Have a great weekend, everyone. 

I've got a LOT to do - starting with a long massage on Saturday morning (my back has been really buggin' me lately). 

I am also preparing my guest room for the ARRIVAL OF THE NEW BED - FINALLY - ON MONDAY!!!!!!  And also the new pink chair. 

So we should have some fun pictures for the blog next week.

Yay!

So -

In anticipation of the bed arrival, I have to hang curtains and tidy up and shop in a serious way for new lamps for the room.  Sometimes I think it would be easier if I weren't so exacting about the house but I can't help it.  I think I've looked at and rejected every lamp in captivity over the last few months.  Part of it is I think I just need to have the bed in there to see what I think but another part thinks I'll know it when I see it. 

Anywho - the Boy is going out of town so I'll have some time to shop.  Strangely enough, decorating the guest room is not his first choice for a fun way to spend the weekend.  Despite the obvious character flaw he has other stellar qualities, so we'll try to muddle through.
