Making the Team
So, everybody has their own little secret, embarrassing reality TV addiction, right?
Mine is Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.
OMGILOVEITSOMUCHICANNOTEVENSTANDMYSELFI'MSERIOUSIREALLYMEANIT!!!
It's the BEST thing EVER!
I can hardly type because I'm bouncing up and down with happy while I write......
Anyway - if you don't watch it you definitely should. It's on CMT and it only lasts for 8 short episodes.
Go. Watch. Be Mesmerized.

It's Like Christmas With Sprinkles on Top
This is my new favorite show. Seriously.First, Chris O'Donnell, who has always been a perfectly acceptable pretty boy, is aging amazingly well.
Who knew 10 years and a crewcut would look so good?
Chris plays a guy with a murky past who doesn't have a discernible first name. It's just "G." Next, we have LL Cool J - he plays a former Navy seal.
In case you need a visual - here he is:
I just don't see how any reasonable person, man or woman, could not be in love with LL Cool J. He's objectively beautiful and oh, so cool. Did I mention that he's beautiful? And cool? And beautiful? And the cool - don't forget the cool.
I mean, damn.
Lastly, and this is just a personal thing, we have this guy:
I don't know who he is but he has a recurring role as "Agent Renko" and he really melts my butter. And in my experience, a girl should never discount a butter melter, even if she doesn't rightly know who he is. I'm just sayin'.
I was excited because I knew the show was on tonight, but then when I saw Agent Renko, well, I just had to get up a do a little happy dance.
There are some other people, too and they're all good, but I've outlined the show's major attractions for you.
If you aren't watching NCIS Los Angeles go and check it out. It's much more fast paced and - I think - cooler - than the original NCIS. Although Mark Harmon is in the hotness hall of fame, he just can't compete with these guys.

Rachel Zoe Redux
I think Rachel has had a little nip/tuck since last year. She looks....refreshed.So this week's episode is all about the traumas faced by Rachel and her team as they readied their clients for The Golden Globes.
Talk about stress!
They're between seasons and everything has already been worn by everybody. Whatever will they do? She's not dying for anything! It's a problem. And they had to gown beg.
Did you ever know there was such a thing as gown begging?
Brad had to do manual labor.
Tay didn't get to try on the Dior.
And NOBODY would go eat dinner with Rodger. Just as an aside, does anybody know what Rodger does for a living?

The Rachel Zoe Project
I don't really watch much reality TV, but I do have several addictions.Three to be exact.
I should just go ahead and tell you because they are all beginning new seasons and I'm going to have to comment on them from time to time.
First, Project Runway, which goes without saying and which it is too soon to get into.
Second, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. I love it so much I can't even stand it. Kelly Finnglass and an entire culture dedicated only to cheerleading! My GOD! But that season starts later and I have to really, really try not to think about it right now because I get too excited.
And third, we have the season premiere of The Rachel Zoe Project.
It's Bananas ya'll! She's shutting it down. I die....
I love it so much that I have been practicing talking like Rachel, including the way she says the word "Brad".
Basically, you have to relax your whole face and say it without moving any muscles in your mouth or lips.
It helps to pretend that you get your entire caloric intake from Starbucks mega lattes and you're so otherwise weak from anorexia that you can barely move.
Not that Rachel's anorexic. She's just high strung....

Taking Chance
On Sunday I sat down and watched this movie on HBO. I just have to say that I think it was one of the most powerful and heartbreaking things I have ever seen. It is quiet and it isn't preachy. Although it is a movie about the war, it is not political. Somehow, though it has very little dialog, it manages to convey the very real cost of war, the loss of one family's beloved son, and what the words "thanks of a grateful nation" really mean.It tells the true story of a Marine named Chance Phelps, a 19 year old Lance Cpl. who was killed in Iraq and of the Marine, Lt. Colonel Mike Strobl, who volunteered to escort Chance across the country and return him to his family in a small town in Wyoming. Along the way we are shown the tiny kindnesses extended to both Col. Strobl and Chance, from the ticketing agent who upgrades Col. Strobl to first class to the cargo handlers at the airport who carefully load and unload Chance's casket, to the disembarking passengers who stop to quietly pay their respects as Chance's body is removed from the plane. We also see the honor and dignity that is bestowed on Chance by those who prepare his body for burial and by Strobl, who cares for him as he is returned to his family.
This movie is about service, about sadness and loss and about how our country comes together in times of war and tragedy. It broke my heart. I watched it with tears running down my face from beginning to end and I am crying as I write this. Please watch it. You will feel grateful that you did.
