This boy loves to sleep.
He also has horrible teeth!
On Tuesday night, he broke one of his front middle teeth. We went to the vet on Wednesday and it has to come out. I guess he's gonna be a little toothless boy before it's over with.
The good news is that we don't have to put him under general anesthesia to pull it, he'll just have to be sedated.
He's scheduled for next Wednesday and he's on his doggy painkillers until then - although the vet doesn't think it bothers him a lot, she thinks it is probably a little painful and the meds will do the trick.
Keep your fingers crossed for healthy Beans after this.
I think that toothless little old men/dogs are charming.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about his carious teeth :( Do they make doggie dentures? I'm going to guess no. Whatever will he do? Soft food only perhaps...
He's so fat and he always sleeps all wadded up on the pillows like that. It looks uncomfortable to me, but he's happy. The vet actually told me that she could refer us to a canine orthodontist who could do a root canal and a cap. I think that is too much to put him through. And I'm sure he'd just break it off again anyway.

ReplyDeleteOh poor old snuggle bucket! Never heard of a dog breaking a tooth, although it sounds like it might be easier to do than I thought. Glad he doesn't have to go under to get it out. We'll keep our paws crossed for him!
