This Charming Closet

Oh.

My.

Goodness.....

I want these shoes.

I have nowhere to wear them but DAMN!

This Charming Closet

What can you say about these shoes?

That they're ridiculously expensive?

That they have no practical purpose, whatsoever?

That you may be taking your life and health into your own hands by trying to jack yourself up 5 inches and then walk across the room?

All these things are true.

So true.

But they are THE MOST fun you can have in a shoe store.

And yes, I tried them on.

And yes, I had a blast.

And yes, I can walk in them (they're surprisingly comfortable, considering).

I left them there.  Even I am not quite this frivolous.  But they were a blast.

A.  Blast.

This Charming Closet

Y'all - it is with a great deal of happiness that I welcome the return of the stacked heel loafer - or as I like to call them 'stomp around shoes'....

They look as good with my court suits as they do with my jeans and they are hella comfortable to boot.

These are also very affordable - from Nine West.

I'm sorta kinda in love with these shoes.

The funky heel makes me swoon.

The Opal Wedge, from Diane Von Furstenberg.

This Charming Closet

I found these little flats to wear with my white capri jeans and other stuff.....

I think they're a little Chanel-y.  But without that pesky little Chanel price tag....

Peep toed booties WILL be bought this year, y'all.

The only question is which pair?

I like these from Nine West.

A Little Extra Pretty for the Weekend

The Christian Louboutin Python d'Orsay from Neiman Marcus.

If there has ever been a more perfect or fabulous shoe, I just don't know where....

And if you are in the market for something completely outrageous, impractical and utterly frivolous:

It's the Toundra Booty in Fur.... Cause' you know you need these to jazz up your sweat pants when you run to the grocery store.  You can be all 'Posh Spice' with your bad self.

I swear to you, I'm going to see some poor, sad woman teetering down the mall in these in Charlotte and I am going to laugh. at. her.  Or even worse, I'll see somebody teetering along in the Steve Madden knock offs.  And I'll laugh at her, too.  Just for different reasons....

This Charming Closet

I saw this.... and I HAD to have these shoes....

And I said to myself "It's Carrie Underwood.  She's keepin' in real.  She's not wearing $1000 sandals.  She's probably wearing Tonya-could-afford-them sandals..."

And then I made it my business to Track Them Down.

Fortunately, All Gladiator Sandals Dot Com was On. The. Job.

Seriously, isn't it wonderful that there is a blog devoted to the identification and celebration of gladiator sandals?

And I got the last pair of 7 1/2's in captivity at Zappos.

My GOD, I love the internet!

I called my mother and told her she did this to me and ought to cut me a check.

Unfortunately, Mommy don't play that....

Shopping

As I said before, shopping was done this weekend.

Here is a little run down of the damage:

First, I bought the beaded black faille sheath from Talbots:

And then I got these shoes,  for several reasons.  First, they were on sale.  Second, they are comfortable.  Third, they are black patent leather.  And fourth, I thought they looked very retro Kate Spade....

And because of this picture:

I NEEDED a bag like that.  And since the $2300 cost ain't happening here, I had to go in search of a more viable alternative.....

And did I mention that Talbots was having a sale?

So I got this one....  It's not made of real snakes, but I just pretend that it is....

And then I went over to Nordstrom and the FUN SHOES ARE BACK!!!!!!

I got these.  Pewter metallic!  I'm wearing them today.

And then I ordered these because I think they will do wonders for my boring black dresses.  And I have a denim skirt I want to wear them with.  Oh,  and jeans.  I'll wear them with jeans.

They are nothing but fun and I want fun shoes.

It's been too long.

And I went in to Kate Spade and actually met this bag, which we talked about last week:

The good news is that I didn't so much love it in person.  It was a lot more bubble gummy than I thought it would be.  And it was super light.  It didn't feel like an expensive bag and if you're gonna charge a girl four hundred and seventy five dollars, you ought to give her a more substantial bag.

At least that's my view.  But anyway, I don't want it anymore.  At least not for this price.

And Tim Gunn was in Charlotte at the South Park Mall.  I am NEVER in the right place at the right time, but I was at Aveda buying shampoo and he was over in center court hosting some sort of local fashion show.  He looked just like he does on TV.

Doesn't everybody say that?

Christian Louboutin

I have a problem.

Christian Louboutin.

I want these. And, they are on sale.

Recession?

I didn't mean to go to the 60% off sale at Bob Ellis.

But then, you know, I went in just to "look". And, in my defense, I wanted these shoes last summer but I DID NOT buy them. I said "no", "these are too expensive" and "I'm being good". But now they're on SALE. So I bought them.

I also got some Stuart Weitzman booties, because they were also on sale, and I have needed some booties for a really long time and I looked other places and couldn't find what I wanted.

I also tried these on for fun:

They were just about the most gorgeous thing ever! Totally and completely impractical and overpriced, but it was so much fun to wear them for 5 minutes!
