Happy Monday

Hi!

I had a weekend!  Well, for me, anyway.

Saturday was spent test driving new cars, discussing finance and lease options, shopping, eating and freaking out......

Not necessarily in that order.

The upshot of the whole thing is that I drove a Mercedes C300 and was not blown away.  I think if they want to charge you that much money, you should be blown away and I was not.  Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice car.  But I didn't fall in love with it and I kinda wanted to.

Then it was on to Infiniti, where I did fall in love.  I think they are going to give me a good deal and if all goes well I should have some new wheels by midweek.

*fingers crossed*

I'm a little afraid to talk about it because I'm afraid I'll jinx it, but I love that car.  It's sort of like going from a little go-cart to a space ship.  I really love, love, loved the navigation system.  And the leather seats.  And the BOSE sound system.  And the camera that helps you back up.  And the bluetooth.

It's official.  I have grown up and sold out.

I did OK at the Mercedes dealership because after I drove the car, I knew that I wouldn't actually buy it unless the terms were astronomically fabulous.  But they weren't.  So even though numbers were thrown around, I didn't have a lot of stress about them.

Infiniti was another story.  He came out and put the numbers in front of me and my head just - exploded.  Instant migraine.   I had to ask for water so I could take a pill.  My darling friend, however, was vastly amused.

I just can't believe that I can actually get a car like this.  It feels very adult.  Even more adult than the house - to me anyway.

Then, to assuage my nerves, we went over to Nordstrom and bought lip gloss and tried on boots.

I am pleased to report that I tried the Stuart Weitzman's that I blogged about last week, and that I loved them in theory but the over the knee thing made me feel like a hooker.  I've decided that I liked the color more than anything so I'm gonna keep my eye out for a more practical option.

Sunday was spent getting a massage and my toes done.  I've had a whole lot of hip pain this past week and I'm hoping that a couple of massages will take care of it.  It's been a chronic problem for years, but the regular massages keep it at bay.  However, I haven't been going as regularly as I should and I've been in pain all week.  Unfortunately, while the masseuse was wonderful, I think she just rubbed the soreness up out of my muscles.  I came home and took a hot bath and two Aleve, but I still feel sore and achy.  I scheduled another session for next Sunday and I'm hoping I'll be OK by then.  We'll see.

I have court tomorrow morning and then I'm going to go down and see about the C.A.R.  before I go off to my facial - stop it, I've told you all before, skin care at this point is like trench warfare.

So stay tuned.  We may have car pictures later this week.

Oh - and I hired a blog designer to spruce up the blog.  I'm hoping that will come together this week, too.  Things will look a little nicer and more interesting around here very soon....

  1. Have you tried yoga for your hips? There's a really great hip opener called pigeon that you could look into. Good luck with your new auto-mobiiiiillle!

  2. I'm trying to get into a yoga class, hopefully in September. And when I say trying, I mean trying to work one into my schedule.

I'm picking up the car this evening!!!
