Happy Monday

I bought dahlias this weekend at the farmers market.

I took naps.

On Saturday I made cornbread and green beans and new potatoes for dinner.  The green beans were so good I almost couldn't stand it.  And then there was strawberry shortcake for dessert.....

On Sunday I took all my returns back to the mall and then bought new foundation at Neiman Marcus - the Georgio Armani - I'll let you all know how it goes.  I also got for the concealer.  I have decided to accept that I'm now too old for Cover Girl, y'all.

I took the old car to Auto Bell and got it cleaned up and shiny.  Now I just have to get the gunshot wound fixed and I'll be ready to put her on the market.  I'm hoping I can sell it pretty quickly.  It's a good little car.  I hope someone will love it as much as I have.

And speaking of cars, I continue to bond with the new one.  I'm getting more comfortable with it, but one of my friends called me while I was driving down South Boulevard yesterday and I just so happened to be holding my phone in my hand (I was checking email at a stop light).  Anyway, I answered the phone like you normally would, but then she started talking and the bluetooth scared the shit out of me.  So newfangled! I mean, I had totally forgotten about it.

I also made it all the way through the September issue of Vogue and I'm so excited for fall clothes now!  Chunky heels are back!  And just in time.  I've really missed them! It's also interesting to me that despite being 800 pages, there were only about 10 pages of actual content that I found worth reading.  The rest of it is just ads.  Fun ads, but ads nonetheless.

I think it's going to be a good week.  Stick with me, we have a good recipe coming up on Wednesda, and a book I'm kind of excited about on Thursday.  And the new blog is coming!  I've seen the "sample blog" and I'm excited for it, so stay tuned!

  1. I am happy to hear that you picked up some Giorgio Armani foundation. I was introduced to Luminous Silk about 6 years ago and have never used another foundation since then. For concealer, I'm crazy about Cle de Peau. It's expensive, but it does the trick.

  2. I haven't heard of Cle de Peau, and I'm not certain I can get it in Charlotte. I'll have to see about it.
